Privacy policy
The short version: text you paste into the checker is processed entirely inside your browser and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. Analytics load only if you press Accept. There is nothing else.
1. Text you check
Everything the checker does, detecting hidden characters, building the x-ray view, producing the cleaned output, runs as JavaScript in your browser, using a file served from this domain.
- Your text is not uploaded to any server, ours or anyone else's.
- Your text is not stored, in a database, a log, a cookie or local storage.
- Your text is not seen by us at any point.
This is a property of how the site is built rather than a promise about how we behave. Once the page has loaded you can disconnect from the internet and the checker keeps working, because there is no network request to make.
2. What we store on your device

If you never press Accept, no analytics cookie is ever set, and no Google script is ever loaded. The consent record itself contains a single word, accepted or rejected, and no identifier.

Clearing the record makes the banner appear again on your next page load, so you can choose differently. Analytics cookies already set by Google can be removed through your browser's site data settings.
3. Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are useful. It is loaded only after you press Accept on the consent banner.
Before any choice is made, Google Consent Mode v2 is initialised with every signal, analytics_storage, ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization, set to denied, and no Google script exists on the page at all. Pressing Reject leaves it that way permanently. Pressing Accept updates the signals to granted and loads the analytics script at that moment.
What Google Analytics collects when enabled: pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, referring site, and interaction events. IP anonymisation is enabled. It does not receive any text you paste, because that text never leaves your browser to begin with.
4. Advertising
This site is intended to be funded by advertising through Google AdSense. The AdSense tag is present on every page, and reserved advertising areas are marked in the layout. Advertising is not being served yet.
The tag loads for every visitor, but a script that runs before it sets every Consent Mode v2 signal to denied. Until you choose otherwise, no advertising cookie is written and no identifier about you is used. If you reject, or simply never answer, advertising can still be shown, but only in a non-personalised form derived from the page you are reading.
Google and other third-party vendors use cookies and identifiers to serve and measure ads on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites on the internet. That happens only once you have accepted, through the consent mechanism described in the cookies policy.
You can review and control personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, and opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info. Personalised advertising is served to users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland only where consent has been collected through a Google-certified consent management platform.
The cookies policy lists what is set, by whom and for how long, and is updated when that changes.
5. Server logs
Our hosting provider records standard web server logs for the requests that serve these pages: IP address, timestamp, requested URL, response code, referrer and user agent. This is ordinary operational logging, needed to run a website securely and to diagnose faults. Logs are retained for a short period and are not used to build profiles or combined with any other data.
6. Legal basis (GDPR)
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a)) for analytics and any advertising cookies. Freely given, and withdrawable at any time using the button above.
- Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) for server logs, limited to operating and securing the site.
There is no legal basis needed for the text you check, because it is never processed by us in any legal sense, it never leaves your device.
7. Your rights
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom you have the right to access your data, to rectification, to erasure, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
In practice we hold almost nothing about you: no account, no email address unless you write to us, and no record of anything you have checked. To make a request, or to ask what exists, email [email protected]. We respond within one month, as the regulation requires.
8. Children
This site is a technical utility and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children, and the tool itself collects nothing from anyone.
9. International transfers
If you accept analytics, data collected by Google Analytics may be processed outside your country under Google's own transfer mechanisms. If you do not accept, no such transfer occurs, because no request is ever made.
10. Changes
When this policy changes materially, a new processor, a new category of data, we update the date at the top and, where the change affects consent, ask for consent again rather than assuming the old choice covers it.
