Cookies policy
Until you press Accept on the consent banner, this site sets no cookies at all and loads no third-party scripts. That is not a configuration choice we could quietly reverse, the Google code is only fetched at the moment you accept.
1. Before you choose
On a first visit, the page loads its HTML and one JavaScript file, both from this domain. Google Consent Mode v2 is initialised with all four signals set to denied, and nothing else runs.
Nothing is written to your device except the consent record described below, and that is written only when you press a button. Rejecting means no cookie is ever set, on this visit or any later one, unless you change your mind.
2. Storage that is not a cookie

This entry holds one word and no identifier. It is strictly necessary for honouring your choice: without it we would have to ask on every page. You can remove it at any time using the button on the privacy page.
3. Cookies set after you accept
These are set by Google Analytics, as first-party cookies on this domain, and only once you have pressed Accept.

No text you paste into the checker is ever sent to Google Analytics, or anywhere else. The checker does not transmit your text under any circumstances, accepted or not.
4. Advertising cookies
This site is intended to be funded by advertising through Google AdSense. The AdSense tag is present on every page. Advertising is not being served yet, and this section will not need rewriting when it starts, because what is described below is already what runs.
The tag never runs unannounced. A small script executes before it and sets every Consent Mode v2 signal to denied, so no advertising cookie is written and nothing is personalised until you choose.
If you do nothing, or press Reject, ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization stay denied. Advertising can still appear, but it is non-personalised: it is chosen from the page you are reading rather than from anything stored about you, and no advertising cookie is set in your browser.
If you press Accept, those same signals are granted. Google and other third-party vendors may then set cookies for frequency capping, fraud prevention, measurement, and personalised advertising based on your visits to this and other sites. This section is updated with the specific cookie names once those cookies are in use, in the same way the analytics table above lists them.
You can review or switch off personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, and opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info.
5. Categories, plainly
- Strictly necessary. The consent record only. It exists to respect your decision and cannot be declined without breaking that.
- Analytics. Optional. Counts visits and pages. Denied by default.
- Advertising. Optional. Supports ad delivery and measurement. Denied by default.
- Functional and personalisation. None. The site has no accounts, no preferences and no personalisation.
6. Changing your mind
Use the Clear my consent choice button on the privacy page. The banner returns on your next page load and you can choose again. To remove cookies Google has already set, use your browser's site data settings for this domain, every major browser offers per-site clearing.
Blocking cookies entirely in your browser does not affect the checker. It works with all storage blocked, because it does not use any.
7. Third parties
The only third party that can ever receive a request from this site is Google, for analytics and advertising, and only after consent. There are no fonts, no CDNs, no embedded videos, no social widgets, no chat tools and no tag managers loading from anywhere else. That is also why the first paint of every page needs zero external requests.
